BYOD & WIFI

Flour Bluff Independent School District employs Cisco Identity Services Engine to facilitate our Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) policy. FBISD ensures secure and controlled access to their wireless network. Here are the steps to connect to the FBISD wireless network, namely FBISD-WIRELESS, using your district Active Directory (AD) username and password, as well as accessing the guest network FBISD-GUEST:

FBISD-WIRELESS

For Staff & Students

1. Connect to the FBISD-WIRELESS SSID: On your device, locate the available Wi-Fi networks and select “FBISD-WIRELESS” from the list.

2. Enter your District Active Directory username and password: These credentials are provided by the district IT department.

3. Authenticate with Cisco ISE: After entering your credentials, Cisco ISE will verify your username and password against the district’s Active Directory server to ensure proper authentication. This step ensures only authorized users can access the network.

4. Accept network security policies: Once authenticated, you may be prompted to accept network security policies (certificates) hit trust.

5. Access the internet: After completing the authentication process and accepting network policies, you will have access to the internet through the FBISD-WIRELESS network. You can now browse websites, use online services, and utilize educational resources.

FBISD-GUEST

For visitors & parents

1. Connect to the FBISD-GUEST SSID: Locate the available Wi-Fi networks on your device and select “FBISD-GUEST” from the list.

2. Open a web browser: Once connected to the FBISD-GUEST network, open a web browser on your device.

3. Create a user account: On the web browser, you will be redirected to a guest network login page. Follow the instructions provided to create a user account specifically for the guest network.

4. Sign in with the created user account: After creating the user account, sign in using the credentials you just created. This will authenticate you on the FBISD-GUEST network and grant you access to the internet.

By following these steps, you can connect to the FBISD-WIRELESS network using your district Active Directory username and password, as well as utilize the FBISD-GUEST network by creating a user account and signing in via the web portal. Remember to always adhere to the district’s policies and guidelines while using the network.
