Missing an App? Install it yourself! No really…

During the 2018-2019 school year, we made several changes to have a cleaner computing and networking environment.  With these changes, the ability for our end users to install common applications had to be removed.  We have since implemented a new feature which will allow our users to install commonly used applications on their own.

This new feature is called Software Center!

  1. Click on the Start button and type the words “software center”, you will see the app; go ahead and open it.
  2. Select the app you would like to install and then click on “Install”.
  3. Within a few moments/minutes, the application will be installed and listed on your Start Menu.

Some software will only be available to certain campuses, computers, or groups of users.  We are still tweaking this feature on the backend, so you might notice some apps disappearing and reappearing.

If you do not see Software Center in your Start Menu, please let your friendly neighborhood Campus Tech know!
